The Sydney Morning Herald reveals the Australian government’s own pandemic response plan states when the WHO declares a Level 5 pandemic threat, as it has now done, Australians should be told to get busy stockpiling food and water for the inevitable shutting down of modern society.

But an Australian government spokesman, who is supposed to know what is going on, but hasn’t yet read the government’s pandemic response plans tries, to “Don’t Panic!” the public :

a spokesman for the Department of Health and Ageing called for calm, saying the Government did not want to spark panic buying - ignoring its own plan, already issued to hospitals across the nation.“I agree that is it confusing,” the spokesman said, admitting he had not read the pandemic plan despite being employed to answer questions about it from national media. “The manual may say people should be preparing but we don’t want a run at the shops,” he said.
